Innovation in Eden The Eden Project is based around vast glasshouses, - the largest anywhere in the World. Each is big enough to house 13 magnificent cathedrals and provides a unique opportunity to study plant life, under one roof in Cornwall, yet covering the complete range of habitats on earth. Much of the inspiration for the project came from the vision of Tim Smit (right picture), of Lost Gardens of Heligan fame. The efforts of his team have raised the money to build these huge glasshouses.
The size of 35 football pitches, the Eden project is a living theatre of plants and people. This is a project where the stratified learning experience will, at once, appeal to the young child, to the mature day visitor and to the serious student studying for a doctorate in sustainable development.
